Chapter 4 Configuration ◊ Add Logical Drive (or Add LUN) - This option adds additional physical drives in an existing single or multiple LUN array. It may also be used to add new logical drives to increase the number of LUN arrays. The RAID level of the existing Logical Drives may change to accommodate re-striping. The existing array can not be spanned or contain more than 7 physical drives and must contain only one logical drive. Data integrity is maintained during this process. 7. If you selected Add Logical Drive, skip to the Add Logical Drive procedure in the next section to continue. The Add Logical Drive button takes you to the Logical Drives tab in Manual Configuration. The referenced procedure provides the instructions for configuring the disk arrays into logical drives. 8. If you selected Expand Logical Drive, continue with the step 9. The Manual Configuration/Expand Logical Drive dialog box appears. See Figure 4-51. 9. Select an unused drive and drag it to next available square in line with the Disk Arrays A0 section. The drive will be part of a disk array referred to as "A0." See Figure 4-51. Figure 4-51. Expand Logical Drive Dialog Box After the unused drive is dropped into the existing Array, the Apply button becomes active (armed). See Figure 4-52. 88

7.
If you selected Add Logical Drive, skip to the Add Logical Drive
procedure in the next section to continue.
The
Add Logical Drive
button takes you to the Logical Drives tab in
Manual Configuration. The referenced procedure provides the instructions
for configuring the disk arrays into logical drives.
8.
If you selected Expand Logical Drive, continue with the step 9.
The Manual Configuration/Expand Logical Drive dialog box appears. See
Figure 4-51.
9.
Select an unused drive and drag it to next available square in line with the
Disk Arrays A0 section.
The drive will be part of a disk array referred to as "A0." See Figure 4-51.

button
becomes active (armed). See Figure 4-52.
