ExpressCard assembly Description For use only on computer models equipped with a 15.6-in display assembly For use only on computer models equipped with a 14.0-in display assembly Spare part number 613316-001 613315-001 Before removing the ExpressCard assembly, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 79). 5. Remove the following components: ● Bluetooth module (see Bluetooth module on page 81) ● Mass storage device (see Mass storage device on page 83) ● Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 94) ● Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 96) ● Switch cover (see Switch cover on page 103) ● Palm rest (see Palm rest on page 107) ● TouchPad (see TouchPad on page 109) ● Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 118) ● Top cover (see Top cover on page 130) ● Speaker assembly (only on computer models equipped with a 14.0-in display assembly, see Speaker assembly on page 139) Remove the ExpressCard assembly: NOTE: Steps 1 through 3 apply only to computer models equipped with a 15.6-in display assembly. See steps 4 and 5 for information on removing the ExpressCard assembly on computer models equipped with a 14.0-in display assembly. 1. Disconnect the speaker cable (1) from the ExpressCard assembly. 2. Lift the right side (2) of the ExpressCard assembly to disconnect it from the system board. Component replacement procedures 135
