Insert the battery into the battery bay until it is seated. The battery release latch automatically locks the battery into place. SIM NOTE: The SIM is provided by the end user as a security measure for the WWAN module. The SIM should be removed, placed into a static-dissipative container, and then replaced when the computer is reassembled. Before removing the SIM, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 79). Remove the SIM: 1. Press in on the SIM (1) to release it from the SIM slot. 2. Remove the SIM (2) from the SIM slot. Insert the SIM into the SIM slot, and gently push the SIM into the slot until it is firmly seated. 80 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures
