Speaker assembly NOTE: The speaker assembly spare part kit includes a cable. Description For use only on computer models equipped with a 15.6-in display assembly For use only on computer models equipped with a 14.0-in display assembly Spare part number 613347-001 613348-001 Before removing the speaker assembly, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 79). 5. Remove the following components: a. Bluetooth module (see Bluetooth module on page 81) b. Mass storage device (see Mass storage device on page 83) c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 94) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 96) e. Switch cover (see Switch cover on page 103) f. Palm rest (see Palm rest on page 107) g. TouchPad (see TouchPad on page 109) h. Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 118) i. Top cover (see Top cover on page 130) j. ExpressCard assembly (only on computer models equipped with a 15.6-in display assembly, see ExpressCard assembly on page 135) Remove the speaker assembly: NOTE: Steps 1 and 2 apply only to computer models equipped with a 15.6-in display assembly. See steps 3 through 5 for speaker assembly removal information for computer models equipped with 14.0in display assembly. 1. Remove the slotted Torx T8M2.5×7.0 screw (1) that secures the speaker assembly to the base enclosure. Component replacement procedures 139
