Getting Started The options in this dialog enable you to specify the settings used to make a host connection. TCP/IP Host Connection For a TCP/IP host connection, click the TCP/IP button, select Telnet in the list box next to it, then enter the name or internet address of the host computer in the Host Name box. Selecting the Host Rollover On Connection Fail option will present four Host Name entry boxes. TeemTalk will attempt to connect to each specified host in turn until one is successful. You can specify the connection timeout in the Telnet Options dialog. Click Advanced for additional Telnet options. Refer to the section "TCP/IP Connection Settings" on page 57 for details. Modem Host Connection For a modem host connection, click the Modem button then click Configure to display configuration options. Refer to the section "Modem Connection Settings" on page 70 for details. Serial Host Connection For a serial host connection, click the Serial button, specify the communications port in the Connect To box, then click Configure for additional serial options. SSH or SSL Host Connection The SSH (Secure Shell) client/server protocol is used to encrypt and transmit data securely over a network, with authentication (proof of client identity) provided by a password and/or key.
