Maint Mode: Select Fast R/W Diagnostic 5. Press and hold the unload button for 3 or more seconds, then release it to select the function. Immediately after the following message displays, insert a scratch (blank) data cartridge that is not write-protected (or the tape drive exits maintenance mode). Note: If you inserted an invalid or write-protected tape cartridge, 7 appears in the single-character display. The tape drive unloads the cartridge and exits maintenance mode. v If no error is detected, the test will loop and begin again. To stop the loop, press the unload button for one second and release. When the loop ends, 0 temporarily appears in the single-character display. The drive rewinds and unloads the tape, partially ejects the cartridge, then exits maintenance mode.
