Removing the cover The following information describes how to remove the cover. Cover release lever Screws Complete the following steps to remove the cover from the server/workstation: 1. Review the information in "Before you begin" on page 45. 2. Turn off the server/workstation and all attached devices and disconnect all external cables and power cords. 3. Remove the server/workstation from the rack (see "Rack installation" on page 46). 4. Remove the two screws from the rear of the server/workstation. 5. Pull out on the cover release lever at the back of the server/workstation, to release the cover. 6. Slide the cover back, then up and off the server/workstation. Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace the cover before turning on the server/workstation. Operating the server/workstation for extended periods of time (over 30 minutes) with the cover removed might damage server/workstation components. 7. Remove the clear shield that covers the inside of the server/workstation.
