CAUTION: Hazardous moving parts. Keep fingers and other body parts away. To replace the front fan assemblies, do the following: 1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 77. 3. Locate the failing front fan assembly. See "Locating components" on page 4. 4. Press the tab 1 and slide the front fan assembly outward by the handle 2 to remove it from the chassis. Figure 37. Replacing the front fan assemblies
Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the “Read
this first: Important safety information” on page v.
CAUTION:
Hazardous moving parts. Keep fingers and other body parts away.
To replace the front fan assemblies, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 77.
3. Locate the failing front fan assembly. See “Locating components” on page 4.
4. Press the tab

and slide the front fan assembly outward by the handle

to remove it from the chassis.
