Wireless-N 150 Router WNR612v2 User Manual Manually Checking for Firmware Upgrades You can use the Router Upgrade screen to manually check the NETGEAR website for newer versions of firmware for your product. Note: You can also check for upgrades from the NETGEAR website at http://www.netgear.com/support. To manually check for new firmware and install it on your wireless router: 1. Under Maintenance on the wireless router main menu, select Router Upgrade. 2. Click Browse, and locate the firmware you downloaded (the file ends in .img or .chk). 3. Click Upload to send the firmware to the wireless router. WARNING! When uploading firmware to the wireless router, do not interrupt the Web browser by closing the window, clicking a link, or loading a new page. If the browser is interrupted, it could corrupt the firmware. When the upload is complete, your wireless router automatically restarts. The upgrade process typically takes about 1 minute. Read the new firmware release notes to determine whether you must reconfigure the wireless router after upgrading. Backing Up, Restoring, and Erasing Your Settings The configuration settings of the wireless router are stored in a configuration file. Manually Checking for Firmware Upgrades
You can use the Router Upgrade screen to manually check the NETGEAR website for newer
versions of firmware for your product.

To manually check for new firmware and install it on your wireless router:
