ENCRYPTING COMMUNICATION BY IPSEC You can encrypt the communication between your computer and the machine. The communication is encrypted by IPSec. When IPSec is enabled, encryption is applied to all the applications using the IP protocols. You can specify up to 50 hosts by their IP addresses. When a host that is not registered tries to access the machine, it is rejected. When you try to access a host that is not registered, it is invalid. You must have a pre-shared key in advance. Configuring your machine Be sure to configure your machine first from the web page to enable IPSec. NOTE > When you enable IPSec, the communication to and from a host that is not specified in this procedure is rejected. > Be sure to memorize the values specified in this procedure. They are necessary when you configure the IPSec setting on your computer. 1. Access the machine's web page and log in as the administrator. 2. Select Admin Setup. 3. Select Network > Security > IPSec. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to specify the detailed settings. NOTE Either ESP or AH must be enabled in the configuration for "Phase2 Proposal". 5.
