5. Scanning Originals with the Network TWAIN Scanner Before Using the Network TWAIN Scanner This section describes the preparations and procedure for using the network TWAIN scanner. The TWAIN driver allows you to scan originals on the machine from a client computer via the network. • To use the network TWAIN scanner, you must install the TWAIN driver, which is on the supplied CDROM. For details about installing the TWAIN driver, see "Installing the TWAIN Driver from the Supplied CD-ROM". • To use the network TWAIN scanner, a TWAIN-compliant application, such as DeskTopBinder, must be installed on the client computer. DeskTopBinder Lite is on the supplied CD-ROM. For details about 5 installing DeskTopBinder Lite, see "Installing DeskTopBinder Lite from the Supplied CD-ROM". • p.117 "Installing the TWAIN Driver from the Supplied CD-ROM" • p.97 "Installing DeskTopBinder Lite from the Supplied CD-ROM" Outline of the Network TWAIN Scanner This section outlines the network TWAIN scanner function. In the TWAIN scanner mode, you can share this machine among multiple computers. Before Using the Network TWAIN Scanner

This section describes the preparations and procedure for using the network TWAIN scanner.

The TWAIN driver allows you to scan originals on the machine from a client computer via the network.

To use the network TWAIN scanner, you must install the TWAIN driver, which is on the supplied CD-

ROM. For details about installing the TWAIN driver, see "Installing the TWAIN Driver from the

Supplied CD-ROM".

To use the network TWAIN scanner, a TWAIN-compliant application, such as DeskTopBinder, must
