Chapter 36 DHCP Note: The port to which the DHCP server connects and the port(s) from which the DHCP requests come should be in the same VLAN. Table 143 IP Application > DHCP > Global > DHCP Relay LABEL Active Remote DHCP Server 1 .. 3 Relay Agent Information Information DESCRIPTION Select this check box to enable DHCP relay. Enter the IP address of a DHCP server in dotted decimal notation. Select the Option 82 check box to have the Switch add information (slot number, port number and VLAN ID) and the Circuit ID and Remote ID sub-options to client DHCP requests that it relays to a DHCP server. Select the first option and enter a string of up to 32 ASCII characters that the Switch adds into the client DHCP requests. Spaces are allowed. Relay Remote ID Remote ID Information Otherwise, select the second option to have the Switch use the system name you configure in the General Setup screen. Select the Remote ID check box to have the Switch add information configured in the Remote ID Information field to client DHCP requests before the Switch relays them to a DHCP server. Select the first option and enter a string of up to 32 ASCII characters for the remote ID information in this field. Spaces are allowed. Apply Cancel Otherwise, select the second option to have the Switch use the name of the port on which the DHCP requests are received. Click Apply to save your changes to the Switch's run-time memory. The Switch loses these changes if it is turned off or loses power, so use the Save link on the top navigation panel to save your changes to the non-volatile memory when you are done configuring.
