VDSL Port Status Change

Page 56 highlights

Chapter 7 System Status and Port Statistics The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 6 Port Status LABEL Port Name Link State LACP TxPkts RxPkts Errors Tx KB/s Rx KB/s Up Time Retrain Clear Counter DESCRIPTION This identifies a VDSL or Ethernet port. Click a port number to display the Port Details screen (refer to Figure 35 on page 70). This is the name you assigned to this port in the Basic Setting > Port Setup screen. For an Ethernet port, this field displays the speed (either 10M for 10Mbps, 100M for 100Mbps or 1000M for 1000Mbps) and the duplex (F for full duplex or H for half). It also shows the cable type (Copper or Fiber) for the combo ports. For a VDSL port, this field displays the VDSL transmission rate on the port. For VDSL ports, this field displays Showtime when the VDSL connection is up. Otherwise, it displays Idle, Handshake or Training during the VDSL line establishment. If you perform a DELT test, this field will display LD_Testing or LD_DONE. See Section 7.2.1 on page 56 for more information. For Ethernet ports, if STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) is enabled, this field displays the STP state of the port (see Section 14.1 on page 160 for more information). If STP is disabled, this field displays FORWARDING if the link is up, otherwise, it displays STOP. This fields displays whether LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol) has been enabled on the port. This field shows the number of transmitted frames on this port. This field shows the number of received frames on this port. This field shows the number of received errors on this port. This field shows the number of kilobytes per second transmitted on this port. This field shows the number of kilobytes per second received on this port. This field shows the total amount of time in hours, minutes and seconds the port has been up. Click Retrain to re-establish the line connection. Select Port, enter a port number and then click Clear Counter to erase the recorded statistical information for that port, or select Any to clear statistics for all ports. 7.2.1 VDSL Port Status Change The VDSL port status change is shown as the following flow chart. Only when the status is "Showtime", the VDSL connection is up. 56 VES1724-56 User's Guide

This field shows the number of transmitted frames on this port.
RxPkts
This field shows the number of received frames on this port.
Errors
This field shows the number of received errors on this port.
Tx KB/s
This field shows the number of kilobytes per second transmitted on this port.
Rx KB/s
This field shows the number of kilobytes per second received on this port.
Up Time
This field shows the total amount of time in hours, minutes and seconds the port has been
up.
Retrain
