Chapter 8 Basic Setting 8.10.1 Per Queue Ratelimit Profile You can also use per queue rate limit profiles to define ingress and egress data rate limits for each queue on the Switch. Click the Per Queue link in the Rate Limit Profile Setup screen to display the screen as shown. Figure 45 Rate Limit Profile Setup > Per Queue The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 20 Rate Limit Profile Setup > Per Queue LABEL Name Queue CIR PIR Add Clear Index Name DESCRIPTION Enter a descriptive name (up to 20 characters) for identification purposes. This is the index number of queues on the Switch. The Switch has eight physical queues. Select the checkbox and enter the guaranteed bandwidth allowed in kilobits per second (Kbps) for the incoming traffic flow assigned to this queue through a port. Enter a number between 64 and 1000000. The sum of commit rate cannot be greater than or equal to the uplink bandwidth. Select the checkbox and enter the maximum bandwidth allowed in kilobits per second (Kbps) for the incoming traffic flow assigned to this queue through a port when burst traffic occurs. The incoming traffic over this peak rate will be discarded. Enter a number between 64 and 1000000. The peak rate should be greater than the commit rate. Click Add to save the new rule to the Switch. Then a summary table displays in the bottom of the screen. Click Clear to clear the fields to the factory defaults. This field displays the index number of the rule. Click an index number to edit the profile. This field displays the descriptive name for the profile. VES1724-56 User's Guide 97
