CHAPTER 6 TROUBLESHOOTING 2. OPERATOR CALLS & SERVICE CALLS 2.1 Operator Calls An 'operator call' which the printer indicates on the LEDs is user recoverable. Identify the error from the table below and take the corrective action described for each indication to correct it. The printer automatically recovers from most errors, but it may also be necessary to reset the printer with the control panel button. Close the front cover. Close the jam clear cover of the fuser unit. Clear the jammed paper inside the printer. Press the panel button if the printer does not automatically resume printing. Load paper into the printer. Press the go button. Load paper into the printer. Install the tray 1. (Only when the LT is installed.) If the tray 1 is not set correctly at the time the paper is to be fed from the tray 2, the paper feed from the tray 2 results in fail and the error message is displayed. (Except for HL5030.) Set the paper on the manual feed slot or the MP tray. Press the go button. (Error message is displayed.) Press the go button. (Error message is displayed.) Clean the corona wire. (Refer to Section 3 of Chapter 5.) 6-4
