Copying a Block to the Clipboard STYLE J$LOCK CTR/RMF GRANLVIARI COPY ;; ; DELETE • - MOVE CCIETTOCt000040 : PASTE FROM CLIPBOARD GRAMMAR2 SEARCH FORM PAGE PRINT Part of the memory, called the clipboard, allows you to store a block of text from a document. The contents of the clipboard can be inserted in the same document or in any other document you are working on. You may copy a block stored in the clipboard as many times as you want. However, each time you store a new block in the clipboard, you erase the previous contents of the clipboard. NOTES: • The clipboard is erased when the power is turned off. • The clipboard may contain up to 4 kb (about 4,000 characters). 1. Place the cursor on the first character of the block you want to copy to the clipboard. 2. Press MENU to display the menu. 3. Type B to select BLOCK. 4. Type 0 to select COPY TO CLIPBOARD. Move cursor to block end and press MUM. S. Move the cursor to the end of the block to be copied to the clipboard. As you move the cursor, the block is selected (reversed color). Move the cursor back toward the beginning of the block to deselect. All key combinations used to move the text cursor can be used when selecting a block. 6. When the block is selected, press RETURN. NOTE: Press CANCEL at any step to cancel the function. If the clipboard is empty, the block is immediately copied to the clipboard. If the clipboard already contains data, the current contents of the clipboard are displayed, and you are asked whether you want to proceed. Word Processing 47
