Cleaning the Protrusions inside the Machine

3 Perform bottom plate cleaning. (1) Display the Maintenance screen. See "Performing Maintenance" on page 115. (2) Use [ ] or [ ] to select , then press [OK]. The confirmation screen is displayed. Perform bottom plate cleaning.

] to select <Bottom plate cleaning>, then press [OK].
The confirmation screen is displayed.

] to select <Yes>, then press [OK].
The sheet of paper is automatically fed in and then out of the machine.
If the printed paper is smudged, clean the inside of the machine again.
If the problem remains after performing cleaning again, the protrusions inside the
machine may be stained. Clean them up. See

Cleaning the Protrusions inside the Machine
If protrusions inside the machine are stained, wipe ink off the protrusions using a swab or the
like.
Important
Even if the Cassette is selected as the paper source, paper will be fed from the Auto Sheet
Feeder to print the pattern.
Do not perform any other operation while the bottom plate is being cleaned.
