Upgrading Graphics Capabilities CAUTION: Static electricity can damage the electronic components of the workstation or optional equipment. Before beginning these procedures, ensure that you are discharged of static electricity by briefly touching a grounded metal object. See Appendix B for more information. To upgrade graphics memory, follow the steps below: 1. Turn off the workstation and any external devices, then disconnect the power cord from the grounded AC outlet. Disconnect the network cable and any external devices from the system. IMPORTANT: On a power-managed system, the power cord MUST be disconnected from the grounded AC outlet. 2. Remove the workstation access panel. 3. Remove the screw that secures the AGP graphics board to the workstation chassis and remove the board from the AGP slot. Figure 4-13. Upgrading Graphics Capabilities
