Note: These ACL options allow you to add one IP address or one mask at a time. To add more IPs or masks, repeat these steps. Remember to deselect Allow Web Server (HTTP) access each time. The View Log page will appear to show the status of the configuration. Click Refresh to update the status. When the settings are successful, click Go Back to view Multiple Device Configuration Tool, and continue with this checklist. With SNMPv3, the bootloader password, and the ACL configured, you can confidently continue with the security settings. Your passwords and other configuration data will be protected for the remaining configurations. Configurations on the Device Page The Device page includes settings that affect some of the normal use of the MFPs. It includes a few settings related to security: Click Device in the Configuration Categories menu, and scroll down to view the settings recommended below. Note: If you are configuring HP Color LaserJet MFPs, the Device page will display settings to restrict color printing for users and for applications. These settings are not covered in these instructions, but you should consider configuring them to help control the costs of color printing. Follow these instructions to configure the security-related settings on the Device Configuration page: 1. Click to select Job Retention (Figure 17), and select Enabled. This allows users to store print jobs and fax jobs for printing at their discretion (when they can be present to control the printouts and keep them from view). 2. Click to select Job Hold Timeout (Figure 17, above), and select a reasonable time for printing. This ensures that certain types of print jobs stored on the MFP are erased after a reasonable time. Note: Job Hold Timeout does not apply to fax jobs. 3. Select the devices to configure in the Device List, and click Configure Devices (Figure 18) at the bottom of the page.
