Chapter 5 WAN Setup IPoE This screen displays when you select IP over Ethernet. Figure 20 Network > WAN > Internet Connection > Add/Edit: WAN IP Settings (IPoE) The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 13 Network > WAN > Internet Connection > Add/Edit: WAN IP Settings (IPoE) LABEL DESCRIPTION Obtain an IP address automatically A static IP address is a fixed IP that your ISP gives you. A dynamic IP address is not fixed; the ISP assigns you a different one each time you connect to the Internet. Select this if you do not have a static IP address. Enable DHCP Option 60 Select this to identify the vendor and functionality of the ZyXEL Device in DHCP requests that the ZyXEL Device sends to a DHCP server when getting a WAN IP address. Vendor Class Enter the Vendor Class Identifier (Option 60), such as the type of the Identifier hardware or firmware. Use the following Select this if you have a static IP address. Static IP address WAN IP Address Enter the static IP address provided by your ISP. WAN Subnet Enter the subnet mask provided by your ISP. Mask WAN gateway Enter the gateway IP address provided by your ISP. IP Address Enable NAT Select this option to enable full cone NAT on the ZyXEL Device. Enable ICMP Response Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) is a message control and error-reporting protocol between a host server and a gateway to the Internet.
