Always lock the vehicle whenever leaving it. . 2-9 Door Ajar Reminder If one of the doors or the liftgate is not closed properly while the ignition is on, the door ajar light on the instrument cluster comes on and stays on until the doors are closed. See Door Ajar Light on page 5-19. Outsiders can easily enter through an unlocked door when you slow down or stop the vehicle. Locking the doors can help prevent this from happening. To lock or unlock the doors from inside the vehicle: . . Delayed Locking This feature is activated through Vehicle Personalization. See Vehicle Personalization on page 5-37. When delayed locking is active and Q is pressed on the door lock switch while the door is open, a chime will sound three times. When all the doors are closed, the doors will lock automatically after five seconds. If a door is reopened before five seconds have elapsed, the five-second timer will reset once all the doors are closed again. To lock or unlock the doors from outside the vehicle: . Use the key in the driver door to lock and unlock the door. Press Q or K on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter to lock and unlock the doors. Central Locking System This system allows the doors and liftgate to be locked and unlocked by using the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter or by using the key in the driver door.
