Connecting to an External Monitor Connecting to an External Monitor When you connect the camcorder to an external monitor (to monitor the recording or for playback), use the HDMI OUT terminal (v only) or the terminal on the camcorder that matches the one you wish to use on the monitor (u only). Then select the video signal output configuration. Operating modes: 107 Connection Diagram We recommend that you power the camcorder from a power outlet using the compact power adapter. HDMI input HTC-100 High Speed HDMI Cable (optional) HDMI OUT terminal SDI input BNC cable (commercially available) SDI OUT terminal (u only) u Using the SDI OUT Terminal The digital signal that is output from the SDI OUT terminal includes the video signal, audio signal (up to 4 channels), time code signal and the recording command signal. You can also output the camcorder's onscreen displays (A 120). 1 Select [Output Terminal]. > [£ ! Display Setup] > [Output Terminal] 2 Select [ø SDI] and then select [L]. 3 Select [SDI Output]. > [£ ! Display Setup] > [SDI Output] 4 Select the desired option and then select [L]. 5 Select [3G-SDI Mapping]. > [£ ! Display Setup] > [3G-SDI Mapping] 6 Select the desired option and then select [X]. • You can select a video output signal compliant with Level A or Level B of the SMPTE ST 425-1 standard. NOTES • The camcorder cannot output signals to the SDI OUT terminal and HDMI OUT terminals simultaneously. • The time code signal will not be output from the SDI OUT terminal when slow & fast motion recording is activated.
