DES-3026:4# show syslog Purpose Used to display the syslog protocol status as enabled or disabled. Syntax show syslog Description The show syslog command displays the syslog status as enabled or disabled. Parameters None. Restrictions None. Example usage: To display the current status of the syslog function: DES-3026:4#show syslog Command: show syslog Syslog Global State: Enabled DES-3026:4# create syslog host Purpose Used to create a new syslog host. Syntax create syslog host {severity [informational | warning | all] | facility [local0 | local1 | local2 | local3 | local4 | local5 | local6 | local7] | udp_port | ipaddress state [enable | disable]} Description The create syslog host command is used to create a new syslog host. Parameters − Specifies that the command will be applied to an index of hosts. There are four available indexes, numbered 1 through 4. severity − Severity level indicator. These are described in the following: Bold font indicates that the corresponding severity level is currently supported on the Switch. Numerical Severity Code 0 Emergency: system is unusable 1 Alert: action must be taken immediately 2 Critical: critical conditions 62
