xStack DES-3500 Series Layer 2 Stackable Fast Ethernet Managed Switch User Manual MAC Address This allows the Switch's dynamic MAC address forwarding table to be viewed. When the Switch learns an association between a MAC address and a port number, it makes an entry into its forwarding table. These entries are then used to forward packets through the Switch. To view the MAC Address forwarding table, from the Monitoring menu, click the MAC Address link: The following fields can be viewed or set: Parameter Description Figure 8- 15. MAC Address Table window VLAN ID MAC Address Find VID MAC Address Port Learned Next View All Entry Delete All Entry Enter a VLAN ID for the forwarding table to be browsed by. Enter a MAC address for the forwarding table to be browsed by. Allows the user to move to a sector of the database corresponding to a user defined port, VLAN, or MAC address. The VLAN ID of the VLAN the port is a member of. The MAC address entered into the address table. The port that the MAC address above corresponds to. How the Switch discovered the MAC address. The possible entries are Dynamic, Self, and Static. Click this button to view the next page of the address table. Clicking this button will allow the user to view all entries of the address table. Clicking this button will allow the user to delete all entries of the address table. 163
