Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions on page 65. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system on page 66. 3. If installing a new expansion card, unpack it and prepare the card for installation. NOTE: For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card. Steps 1. If installed, remove the filler bracket. NOTE: Store the filler bracket for future use. Holding the expansion card by its edges, position the card so that the connector on the card aligns with the connector on the riser. 3. Insert the connector on the card into the connector on the riser until the card is fully seated. 4. Slide the PCIe retention bracket down to hold the card in place.
