Installing the external cooling fan Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system. Steps 1. Route the external cooling fan power cable into the system through the slot at the back of the chassis. 2. Align and insert the lower and upper hooks on the external cooling fan into the corresponding slots at the back of the chassis. 3. Use the four screws to secure the external cooling fan to the chassis. 4. Connect the external cooling fan power cable to the FAN2 connector on the system board. Figure 59. Steps
1.
Route the external cooling fan power cable into the system through the slot at the back of the chassis.
2.

4.
Connect the external cooling fan power cable to the FAN2 connector on the system board.
