Adjusting Exposure

8 Focus the camera on a piece of white paper, or some other object to set the white balance by, and press the shutter button to save the setting. 9 Press to select User and press the SEL button. 10 Press the ESC button twice to return to view mode. An arrow appears next to the WB (white balance) symbol on the display panel. 11 Follow the instructions on page 3-9 in Getting Started to take pictures with the LCD screen as usual. 12 To switch back to auto white balance, follow steps 1 through 6 above, but change from User to Auto. Then press the ESC button twice to return to view mode. Adjusting Exposure Your camera normally adjusts exposure automatically. If you want to lighten or darken a photo before you take it, you can use the manual setting, and adjust the exposure by hand for any photo you take. Make sure the camera dial is set to View, then follow these steps to take pictures with manual exposure adjustment: 1 Press the SEL button to display the menus. 2 Press or to display the Conditions menu. Using Advanced Camera Features

You can’t set a user-defined white balance if your camera
