Changing Printer Control Panel Configuration Settings CAUTION By using the printer control panel, you can make changes to general printer configuration default settings such as PowerSave, printer personality (language) and jam recovery. Hewlett-Packard recommends that configuration settings be changed only by a system administrator. Configuration settings very seldom need to be changed. To change printer control panel configuration settings 1 Press MENU until CONFIGURATION MENU displays. 2 Press ITEM until the item that you want to change displays. 3 Press VALUE until the appropriate setting displays. 4 Press SELECT to save the setting. 5 Press GO to return the printer to the READY state. Changing PowerSave Settings The adjustable PowerSave feature reduces power consumption when the printer has been inactive for an extended period. The printer display dims when the printer is in PowerSave mode. You can set the length of time before the printer goes into PowerSave mode to OFF, 1 minute, 30 minutes or to 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. The default setting is 1 hour. EN Chapter 2 41
