The following fields are configurable for each user profile: Context name Specifies a collection of management information accessible by an SNMPv3 manager. Authentication protocol You configure this option to select one of the following authentication protocols: none, Message Digest 5 (MD5), or Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA). If you do not select one of these protocols, SMASH does not require the authentication password and does not use it when processing the user profile. When you select MD5 or SHA, SMASH hashes the authentication password according to the authentication protocol that you specify. Privacy password You use this option to encrypt outgoing messages and to decrypt incoming messages according to the privacy protocol that you specify. The length of the password should be at least 8 alphanumeric characters. If you use the privacy password, SMASH requires it to match the user's authentication password, which also must be at least 8 characters in length. Chapter 5. Using the SMASH Proxy 43
