Cleaning The Printer Aside from normal replenishment of paper and ribbons, the only preventive maintenance required for the printer is periodic cleaning. Because operating conditions vary widely, the user must determine how often to clean the printer. There is no guarantee that the user will clean the printer regularly, however, so you should clean the printer whenever you are called to service it. Switch off printer power and unplug the printer power cord before cleaning the printer. DANGER ATTENTION Do not use abrasive cleaners, particularly on the window. Do not drip water into the printer. Damage to the equipment will result. Do not spray directly onto the printer when using spray solutions (spray the cloth, then apply the dampened cloth to the printer). Do not vacuum circuit boards. Cleaning The Exterior 1. Power off the printer. 2. Disconnect the AC power cord from the power source. 3. Wipe the outside of the enclosure with a clean, lint-free cloth dampened (not wet) with water and a mild detergent or window cleaning solution. 4. Dry the enclosure with a clean, lint-free cloth. 5. Clean the inside of the printer, as described below. 432
