Operator Panel Message 088 CONTROL 23.5V CHECK SEE USERS MANUAL Display Messages Table 3. Message List Explanation Corrective Action Controller Voltage Failure. 1. Cycle Power. Run the print job again. If the message appears, download the emulation software again. 2. Cycle power. Run the print job again. If the message appears, replace the flash memory with blank flash with boot code. 3. Download the latest code from IBM First (page 231). 4. Power on the printer in download mode and load flash memory (page 238). 5. Check the shuttle for electrical shorts (page 252). 6. Power on the printer. If the problem reappears, the controller board or microcode is suspect. Do the following: 7. Save the printer configuration values. (Refer to the User's Manual.) 8. Clear NVRAM (page 237). 9. Download and install the latest code from IBM First (page 231). 10. Power on the printer in download mode and load flash memory (page 238). a. If you encounter loading problems, go to the appropriate error code for resolution. b. If you encounter the failure or message that brought you to this procedure, replace the controller board (page 319). After replacing the controller board, DO NOT make the printer READY, but proceed immediately to the next step. 11. Download and install the latest code from IBM First (page 231). 12. Power on the printer in download mode and load flash memory (page 238). If you encounter the failure after replacing the controller board, reinstall the original controller board. 13. Power on the printer and run a print test. If the message appears, do the power supply operational check (page 258). If the power supply fails the check, replace it. If it passes the check, go to the next step. 87
