OPTIONS 13 ■ VOX function The transceiver has a VOX function, which allows hands-free operation. An optional HS-94, HS-95 or HS-97 headset and the OPC-2006 plug adapter cable are also required for operation. • The VOX (voice operated transmission) function starts transmis- sion when you speak into the microphone, without needing to push [PTT]; then, automatically returns to reception when you stop speaking. D Optional unit connection q P ush and hold [ ] for 1 sec. to turn the power OFF. w R emove the jack cover. e C onnect the optional HS-94, HS-95 or HS-97 and OPC- 2006, as illustrated below. OPC-2006 HS-94 Transceiver 1 D Turning the VOX function ON or OFF 2 q C onnect an optional headset and plug adapter cable to the 3 transceiver, and then turn the power ON. w P ush [SET] to enter the Set mode. 4 e R otate [DIAL] to select the VOX setting item, then rotate 5 [VOL] to select "On." 6 7 8 r Push [V/M/C] to return to the frequency display. 9 • "VOX" appears when the VOX function is ON. 10 NOTE: 11 • W hen using the VOX function, adjust the microphone gain and the VOX-related settings (p. 81) to suit your operating 12 environment (including your headset performance). • Select the headset type between the HS-95 and other in 13 the Initial set mode. (p.64) 14 • Set the microphone gain before setting the VOX gain in the Set mode (p. 58).
