Removing a DIMM

Firmly insert the DIMM into the socket until the retaining clips snap back into place and the DIMM is properly seated. Figure 22. Locked Retaining Clips 2.3.4 Removing a DIMM Follow these steps to remove a DIMM: 1. Simultaneously press the retaining clips on each side of the DIMM outward to disengage the DIMM from the socket. Figure 23. DIMM Notch NOTE: Support the DIMM lightly with your fingers when pressing the retaining clips. The DIMM might get damaged when it flips out with extra force. 2. TIP
A DIMM is keyed with a notch so that it fits in only one direction. To
avoid damaging the DIMM, DO NOT force a DIMM into a socket.

Firmly insert the DIMM into the socket until the retaining clips snap back into place and
the DIMM is properly seated.

Removing a DIMM
Follow these steps to remove a DIMM:
1.
Simultaneously press the retaining clips on each side of the DIMM outward to
disengage the DIMM from the socket.

NOTE:
Support the DIMM lightly with your fingers when pressing the retaining clips. The DIMM
might get damaged when it flips out with extra force.

Remove the DIMM from the socket.
