Chapter 5 - Use WWAN and GPS Communications About GPS The GPS receiver in the computer can deliver standards-based National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) data strings to GPS applications. To use the GPS receiver, you need to: • enable WWAN communications. • install an external GPS antenna to the CV41. For more information, see "Connect an External Antenna" on page 21. For more information on purchasing an external GPS antenna, contact your local Intermec representative. Test the GPS Receiver Use this section to learn how to test the GPS receiver. 1 Make sure WWAN communications is enabled. For more information, see "Use WWAN and GPS Communications" on page 71. 2 Make sure an external GPS antenna is connected. For more information, see "Connect an External Antenna" on page 21. 3 Select Start > All Programs > OneClick Internet > OneClick Internet. 4 Tap the GPS button. The coordinates for your location are displayed. To show your current location in Google Maps, tap Track Me.
