Installing the heat sink

1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the server. 2. Remove the server cover. See Removing the server cover. 3. Remove the microprocessor fan duct. See Removing the microprocessor fan duct. 4. Loosen the four screws that secure the heat sink and then carefully lift the heat sink out of the chassis. Figure 55. 1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then, disconnect all

2. Remove the server cover. See Removing the server cover.
3. Remove the microprocessor fan duct. See Removing the microprocessor fan duct.
4. Loosen the four screws that secure the heat sink and then carefully lift the heat sink out of the chassis.
