Digital Entertainer Elite EVA9000/9150 User Manual When sharing media use the following precautions: • Share only the folders containing media files. Do not share your main hard drive or any folder containing programs or personal data. • Share media folders on a read-only basis (do not allow others to write to the folders.) unless recording to the folders. • For maximum security, consider a storage device, attached to a network, dedicated to entertainment and media. When using a wireless network: • Use wireless security such as WEP, WPA, or WPA2. For more about wireless security, see "Wireless Communications" in Appendix B. • Use a firewall or home router with Network Address Translation (NAT), which hides your in- home systems from the Internet. Exercising Parental Control You can block video files by rating, or block any files based on their location. Block Video Files By Rating To block video files using an MPAA or TV rating, mark the files with a rating and then select a rating level on your Digital Entertainer Elite: 1. Use the NETGEAR Tag Tool application to tag video files with an MPAA or TV rating. From the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > NETGEAR Digital Entertainer for Windows > Tag Tool. Note: Files without tags are considered "NR" or Not Rated, the most sensitive and highest rating. Note: Files restricted by rating do not have to be in the same folder. 2. Change the supervisor password on your Digital Entertainer Elite: a.
