Skin Softening Display the shooting screen in smart portrait mode (A45) M d button M F menu icon (A6) M Skin softening Enable skin softening. Option Description S High When the shutter is released, the camera detects one or R Normal (default setting) more human faces (up to 3), and processes the image to make facial skin tones softer before saving the image. Q Low The degree of skin softening applied can be selected. k Off Disables skin softening. When skin softening is enabled, the icon for the current setting is displayed on the monitor during shooting (A8). When Off is selected, an icon for the current setting is not displayed. The effects of skin softening are not visible when framing pictures for shooting. Check the degree of skin softening performed in playback mode. Reference Section Smile Timer Display the shooting screen in smart portrait mode (A45) M d button M F menu icon (A6) M Smile timer The camera detects human faces and then automatically releases the shutter whenever a smile is detected. Option Description a On (single) When the camera detects a human face with smile, it (default setting) automatically takes a single picture. Y On (continuous) When the camera detects a human face with smile, it automatically takes 5 pictures continuously at a rate of 3 frames per second. g On (BSS) When the camera detects a human face with smile, it automatically takes pictures using BSS (Best Shot Selector) (E34). k Off Disables smile timer. When smile timer is enabled, the icon for the current setting is displayed on the monitor during shooting (A8). When Off is selected, an icon for the current setting is not displayed. E43
