04 Connecting your equipment (In case of VSX-830) ! If your set-top box is equipped with an HDMI output terminal, we recommend connecting it to the receiver's HDMI SAT/CBL IN terminal. When doing so, also connect the receiver and TV by HDMI (see Connecting using HDMI on page 42 ). HDMI/DVI-compatible monitor STB HDMI OUT HDMI IN OUT 1 BD ARC CONTROL (DVD) HDMI IN 2 3 (SAT/CBL) ASSIGNABLE 1 - 5 4 5 /MHL (OUTPUT 5 V 0.9 A MAX) Connecting other audio components This receiver has both digital and analog inputs, allowing you to connect audio components for playback. When you set up the receiver you'll need to tell the receiver which input you connected the component to (see also The Input Setup menu on page 59) . CD player, etc. Select one DIGITAL OUT OPTICAL COAXIAL ! Even if your set-top box is equipped with an HDMI output terminal, in some cases the sound is output from the digital audio output (optical or coaxial) and only the video is output from the HDMI output terminal.
