Fagoting When there is a space between two fabrics, with thread sewn over the space to join the fabrics together, it is called fagoting. Use this stitch when sewing blouses or children's clothes. 1. Baste two pieces of fabric onto thin paper, leaving a 1 space of 4 mm (3/16 inch) between the fabrics. 2 1 4 mm (3/16 inch) 2 Paper 3 Basting stitches CONTENTS 1 - 2 - 3 3 - 2.
