I Knee Lifter 20° 6 I Foot Controller 1 2 You can use the knee lifter to raise and lower the presser foot without using your hands, so it is convenient for quilting and other similar projects. To attach, angle the knee lifter about 20 degrees to the left and insert it into the mounting slot as far as possible. 1 - 2 - CAUTION If the knee lifter is not pushed into the mounting slot as far as possible, it may come out during use. 3 - Use your knee to move the knee lifter to the right in order to raise the presser foot. Release to the left for the presser foot to lower. 4 - CAUTION Be sure to keep your knee away from the knee lifter during sewing. If the machine is operated while the knee lifter is pushed, the needle may break or the thread tension may loosen. CAUTION Do not allow fabric pieces and dust to collect in the foot controller. Doing so could cause a fire or an electric shock. 1. With the machine turned off, insert the foot controller plug into its jack on the machine. 1 Foot controller 2 Foot controller jack 2. Switch on the machine, then slowly depress the foot controller to start sewing. * The speed set using the sewing speed controller is the foot controller's maximum sewing speed. 3. Release the foot controller to stop this machine. * When the foot controller is being used, the "Start/Stop" button has no effect on the sewing. * The foot controller can not be used when the embroidery unit is attached. Press the "Start/Stop" button. Note (For U.S.A. only) Foot controller: Model P This foot controller can be used on this machine model ULT2001/ULT2002D/ULT2003D.
