Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 6 (iDRAC6) Express Card (Optional) Installing an iDRAC6 Express Card WARNING: Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of the components inside the system. Before you begin this procedure, review the safety instructions that came with the system. 1 Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet. 2 Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 82. 3 To install the iDRAC6 Express card: a Insert the notch on the iDRAC6 Express card into the clip on the system board. b Align the front edge of the card with the connector on the system board. See Figure 7-1 for the location of the connector. c Press the card down until it is fully seated. See Figure 3-16. When the front of the card is fully seated, the plastic standoff tab snaps over the edge of the holder. Installing System Components 107

Installing an iDRAC6 Express Card
WARNING:
Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system
cover and access any of the components inside the system. Before you begin this
procedure, review the safety instructions that came with the system.

Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect
the system from the electrical outlet.

Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 82.

To install the iDRAC6 Express card:
a
Insert the notch on the iDRAC6 Express card into the clip on the
system board.
b
Align the front edge of the card with the connector on the system
board. See Figure 7-1 for the location of the connector.
c
Press the card down until it is fully seated. See Figure 3-16.
When the front of the card is fully seated, the plastic standoff tab
snaps over the edge of the holder.
