IPv6 static routes are not automatically updated and must be manually reconfigured if the network topology changes. To configure a IPv6 static route, follow these steps: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Command or Action switch# config t switch(config)# switch(config)# ipv6 route ::/0 gigabitethernet 3/1 switch(config)# ipv6 route 2001:0DB8::/32 gigabitethernet 3/2 Purpose Enters configuration mode. Configures a static default IPv6 route on a Gigabit Ethernet interface. Configures a fully specified IPv6 static route on a Gigabit Ethernet interface.
