To relay the frames, the characteristics of the interfaces through which the frames are received and sent must be defined. The configured interfaces can be Fibre Channel interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, the management interface (mgmt0), or VSAN interfaces. This chapter describes the basic interface configuration to get your switch up and running. Tip Before you begin configuring the switch, ensure that the modules in the chassis are functioning as designed. To verify the status of a module at any time, issue the show module command in EXEC mode (see the "Verifying the Module Status" section on page 5-17).
