Chapter 30 Advanced Features and Concepts Common Information Model Send documentation comments to [email protected] Configuring the transport protocol for the CIM server The default transport protocol for the CIM server is HTTP. This uses the wbem-http port (TCP port 5988). HTTPS for CIM uses the wbem-https port (TCP port 5989). To configure the CIM server to use only the HTTPS protocol, follow these steps: Step 1 Step 2 Command switch# config t switch(config)# cimserver enableHttps switch(config)# no cimserver enableHttp Purpose Enters configuration mode. Enables the HTTPS protocol for CIM. Disables the HTTP protocol for CIM. Enabling the CIM Server The CIM server is disabled in all switches in the Cisco MDS 9000 Family by default. To use the CIM server, you must explicitly enable it on the required switches in the fabric. To enable the CIM server, follow these steps: Step 1 Step 2 Command switch# config t switch(config)# feature cimserver switch(config)# no feature cimserver Purpose Enters configuration mode. Enables the CIM server. Disables the CIM server (default). Displaying CIM Information To display CIM information, use the show cimserver command (see Example 30-1 through Example 30-11).
