Port groups are defined by the hardware consisting of sequential ports. For example, ports 1 through 12, ports 13 through 24, ports 25 through 36, and ports 37 through 48 are the port groups on the 48-port 4-Gbps Fibre Channel switching modules. Table 15-2 shows the port groups for the Generation 2 and Generation 3 Fibre Channel modules, and Generation 2 Fabric switches.
