FAX Operation (Advanced) Polling Reception This function automatically triggers transmission of originals stored on the sending machine when the receiving machine dials the sending machine's number. If multiple contacts are specified, they are dialed in sequence and originals are received from each contact. NOTE: If you specified a destination for which encrypted communication is registered, encryptedcommunication is disabled for polling reception. To use polling reception, you must first ensure that the sending machine is set up for polling transmission. (Refer to Polling Transmission on page 4-33.) Using sub addresses at the same time allows the communication modes described below. Sub Address Bulletin Board Reception If the recipient's machine has a sub address bulletin board function, you can use sub addresses† to communicate with that machine even if it is a third-party machine. Sub Address: 3333 External FAX IMPORTANT: The recipient's machine must also be equipped with a sub address bulletin board function. Some fax machines cannot store originals and some do not support polling transmission. Check both the sending and receiving machines beforehand to ensure that they each have the required functionality. Polling Reception
This function automatically triggers transmission of originals stored on the sending machine when the receiving
machine dials the sending machine’s number. If multiple contacts are specified, they are dialed in sequence and
originals are received from each contact.
NOTE:
If you specified a destination for which encrypted communication is registered, encryptedcommunication is
disabled for polling reception.
To use polling reception, you must first ensure that the sending machine is set up for polling transmission. (Refer to
