37 BASIC SHOOTING OPERATIONS Checking the Camera Status Indication Next to the Viewfinder or on the Monitor (in Shooting Mode) Orange lamp Green lamp Operating Procedure Check that the lens barrier is open. Viewfinder Half-press the shutter button. [The lamps on the right of the viewfinder light or blink. 1 Lamps on the right of the viewfinder Lamp Status Camera Operation Available Operation When the green lamp is lit Autofocus has operated correctly. When the green The camera cannot focus on the lamp is blinking subject. This may be due to one of (twice per sec.) the following. Press the shutter button all the way to take the picture. You cannot take a picture by pressing the shutter button all the way. The card is not ready in the following cases: ⅷ When no card is inserted in the camera. ⅷ When the write protect seal is attached to the card. ⅷ When the card cover is open. ⅷ When the card does not have enough space to store the image. When the orange lamp is not lit The flash has been recharged. When the orange lamp is lit The flash is ready. Shooting is possible by pressing the shutter button all the way. Press the shutter button all the way to start shooting with automatic flash. When the orange lamp blinks The flash is charging. slowly Release your finger from the shutter button, and wait until the orange lamp goes out. When both green and orange Battery power is exhausted. lamps blink When the orange The camera is writing to or reading from lamp blinks rapidly the card.Battery power is exhausted. Replace the batteries with new ones. Do not open the card cover or remove the battery.
