Listening to the Radio Using the Tuner With the built-in tuner you can enjoy AM and FM radio stations. You can store your favorite stations as presets for quick selection. Listening to the Radio TUNER Use the [TUNER] input selector button to select either AM or FM. In this example, FM has been selected. Each time you press the [TUNER] but- ton, the input source changes between AM and FM. Band Frequency (Actual display depends on country) Tuning into Radio Stations I Manual Tuning Mode 1 TUNING MODE Press the [TUNING MODE] button so that the AUTO indicator disappears from the display. 2 TUNING PRESET Press and hold the TUNING Up or Down [ ]/[ ] button. The frequency stops changing when you release the button. Press the buttons repeatedly to change the frequency one step at a time. The North American models change FM frequency in 0.2 MHz steps, 10 kHz steps for AM. For other models it's 0.05 MHz steps for FM and 9 kHz steps for AM. In Manual Tuning mode, FM stations will be in mono. Tuning into weak FM stereo stations If the signal from a stereo FM station is weak, it may be impossible to get good reception. In this case, switch to Manual Tuning mode and listen to the station in mono. 12 I Auto Tuning Mode 1 TUNING MODE Press the [TUNING MODE] button so that the AUTO indicator appears on the display. 2 TUNING PRESET Press the TUNING Up or Down [ ]/[ ] button. Searching stops when a station is found. When tuned into a station, the TUNED indicator appears. When tuned into a stereo FM station, the FM STEREO indicator appears on the display, as shown. TUNED AUTO I Tuning into Stations by Frequency You can tune into AM and FM stations directly by entering the appropriate frequency. 1 AMP RECEIVER Press the [RECEIVER] or [AMP] button, followed by the [D TUN] button. D TUN 2 (Actual display depends on country.) The [RECEIVER] or [AMP] button flashes. Within 8 seconds, use the number buttons to enter the frequency of the radio station. Tuning into Radio Stations
Auto Tuning Mode
When tuned into a station, the TUNED indicator
appears. When tuned into a stereo FM station, the FM
STEREO indicator appears on the display, as shown.
Manual Tuning Mode
The North American models change FM frequency in
0.2 MHz steps, 10 kHz steps for AM. For other models
it
s 0.05 MHz steps for FM and 9 kHz steps for AM.
In Manual Tuning mode, FM stations will be in mono.
Tuning into weak FM stereo stations
If the signal from a stereo FM station is weak, it may be
impossible to get good reception. In this case, switch to
Manual Tuning mode and listen to the station in mono.
Tuning into Stations by Frequency
You can tune into AM and FM stations directly by enter-
ing the appropriate frequency.
