Memory Card Your device supports removable microSD™ or microSDHC™ memory cards for storage of music, pictures, videos, and files. Note: Your device comes with a 16GB memory card pre-installed. Installing and Removing a Memory Card For more information about installing and removing a memory card, see "Memory Card" on page 9. Important!: To prevent damage to information stored on the memory card, always unmount the card before removing it from the device. Formatting a Memory Card Formatting erases all content from the memory card and prepares it for use with your device. Formatting a memory card using your device 1. From a Home screen, touch Menu card and device storage ➔ Settings ➔ SD 2. Touch Unmount SD card. At the prompt, touch OK to continue. 3. After unmounting the SD card, touch Format SD card. 4. Follow the prompts to confirm the formatting of the card. Transferring Files to a Memory Card 1. From a Home screen, touch Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Wireless and network ➔ USB Settings, then select Mass storage. 2. Attach your device to the computer with a USB cable. Your device recognizes the connection and displays USB connected in the Status Bar and Notifications Panel. 3. Display the Notifications Panel, then touch USB connected. At the USB Mass Storage prompt, touch Mount to enable copying of files between your computer and the memory card. 4. At the prompt on the computer, select a transfer method. 5. Transfer files to the memory card. When finished, touch Turn Off on the USB Mass Storage prompt, and disconnect the USB cable. Connections 71

Formatting a memory card using your device
1.
From a Home screen, touch
Menu
Settings
SD
card and device storage
2.
Touch
Unmount SD card
. At the prompt, touch
OK
to
continue.
3.
After unmounting the SD card, touch
Format SD card
.
4.
Follow the prompts to confirm the formatting of the card.
Transferring Files to a Memory Card
