Table of Contents Index 180 Tools Using the Connection Manager The Connection Manager lists the following types of wireless network: • Wireless networks already registered to the Connection Manager • Wireless networks not registered, but currently available (Such wireless networks are displayed only when the unit is connected to wireless network and are listed as "Unknown.") For each wireless network, the following information is displayed. • Wireless network display name or SSID • Indicator showing whether a WEP/WPA-PSK security key is required • Signal Strength of the network connection • Indicator showing whether the wireless network is registered to Connection Manager • Indicator showing whether the unit is connected to wireless network When the "Auto Connect" feature in the Network Settings is set to "ON" (default setting) The unit automatically attempts to connect to the pre-registered wireless networks in the pre-arranged order. The order is shown on the Connection Manager screen. The first wireless network on the list has first priority. To change wireless network priority, change its position in the list by selecting wireless network, pressing OPTION to display the Context menu, and selecting "Move Up" or "Move Down" to move wireless network up or down the list. Using the Connection Manager
The Connection Manager lists the following types of wireless network:
• Wireless networks already registered to the Connection Manager
• Wireless networks not registered, but currently available (Such wireless
networks are displayed only when the unit is connected to wireless network
and are listed as “Unknown.”)
For each wireless network, the following information is displayed.
• Wireless network display name or SSID
• Indicator showing whether a WEP/WPA-PSK security key is required
• Signal Strength of the network connection
• Indicator showing whether the wireless network is registered to Connection
Manager
• Indicator showing whether the unit is connected to wireless network
When the “Auto Connect” feature in the Network Settings is set to “ON”
(default setting)
The unit automatically attempts to connect to the pre-registered wireless
